DSCND is an independent eyewear brand born in the mountains we call home in Tahoe, California, creating premium ski and snowboard goggles built for changing conditions. Our goggles feature fast magnetic lens swaps, wide fields of view and all-day comfort, with every pair including a low-light lens and dark lens. Tested in Tahoe and around the world, DSCND goggles are built for skiers and snowboarders who spend their winters chasing storms, exploring new terrain and seeking higher ground.
From the beginning, we wanted to work with athletes who genuinely represent the way we see the mountains, people who are constantly progressing, searching for new terrain, traveling to new places, and building their own story along the way.
When developing DSCND goggles, we tested photochromic lens technology along with traditional lenses from a variety of brands. Photochromic lenses offer the convenience of one lens that adjusts as light conditions change, but we didn't feel the technology gave us the performance we wanted at both ends of the spectrum. We wanted a truly dark lens for bright, high-alpine days and a dedicated low-light lens for the flat light and storm conditions we regularly experience in the mountains.
DSCND was built out of a shared obsession with the mountains and more than fifteen years spent working, traveling, skiing, snowboarding, riding bikes, and building brands in the outdoor industry.
Born from the depths of Tahoe, Tessie is more than a local legend. She represents the unknown, the unexplored and the pull to keep searching beyond what you can see. For DSCND, Tessie represents the spirit that draws us into the mountains. To explore deeper, climb higher and share the journey with the people who inspire us along the way. It's about chasing distant peaks, discovering what lies beyond the next ridge, and finding connection in the places few ever reach.
